With extensive training in surgical cases and procedures and the advancements in technology; the boarded surgeon is experienced in performing orthopedic, soft tissue, oncologic and neurosurgery along with laparoscopic procedures to name a few.

Choosing a veterinary surgical specialist is one of the most important decisions you can make towards achieving a positive outcome for your pet. You want someone who is caring, knowledgeable, and accessible. At our practice, we pride ourselves on our client service. We offer a knowledgeable staff, safe and proven procedures and the latest in medical technology.

State of the art surgery with quicker post-op recovery.

Surgery is performed in one of our 3 state of the art surgical suites. We are the only Louisville hospital staffed with a licensed veterinary medical technician specializing in anesthesia. LVSES is also the only specialty service facility in Louisville that offers Laparoscopic procedures. Sometimes called minimally invasive surgery, Laparoscopic surgery is performed through the abdomen resulting in smaller incisions and quicker recovery. Common procedures with laparoscopic are spays, biopsies and gastropexy.

Your pet’s surgical experience does not end after the procedure. Their post-op comfort is incredibly important to us. All of our surgical patients recover in our Intensive Care Unit that is monitored 24 hours a day. Quality communication is key to a successful recovery, that’s why we send a detailed report to your family veterinarian followed by a phone call to ensure your pet continues to receive the best care available.
