Welcome to our Web Site!

Our mission is to provide the highest quality in veterinary specialty and emergency and critical care services to you, your pet and your veterinarian in Louisville, southern Indiana and surrounding areas.

At this site, you will find information about our practice philosophy, our doctors and our services. LVSES offers the most current practice of veterinary emergency and critical care medicine; a practice that you will not find anywhere else in the region. We do not have a general practice as part of LVSES and rely upon your veterinarian to provide you with such services as preventive medicine and treatment of diseases and health problems. LVSES will compliment your veterinarian's practice by being available when they are not, including nights, weekends and holidays. We can offer emergency services at lower overall costs. Granted, emergency medicine costs are generally higher than your veterinarian. LVSES feels that the higher cost of emergency and critical care medicine demand a high quality of care and compassion that we offer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are proud of what we have to offer to the veterinary and pet owning community of Louisville and the surrounding area.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy learning about what LVSES has to offer! Our emergency and critical care services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

[Please be aware that this website is constantly changing due to the rapid growth of services offered by LVSES! The site was last updated 7-22-2008]

Introducing Drs. Tom and Lara Day!!

Dr. Tom Day and Dr. Lara Morey were married June 17, 2008 in an intimate wedding ceremony at The Glenlaurel Inn (www.glenlaurel.com), a small, cozy Scottish resort located in southeastern Ohio. They arrived on Monday June 16. Their wedding day was spent riding their motorcycle through Hocking Hills State Park and hiking the trails through the sandstone caves known specifically in this area of Ohio. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Connie Crist at 5:00 pm. Tom and Lara then enjoyed a special bottle of Dom Perignon, Vintage 1999 (a gift from Lara's brother), during the gourmet dinner prepared by a top notch staff at the main inn of the Glenlaurel complex. Their short, but sweet, honeymoon was spent enjoying a round of golf at the Brass Rings Golf Course in Logan, OH before riding home to Shelbyville. As a side note; if ANYONE needs a relaxing getaway, please consider The Glenlaural Inn! Their website is very complete and the service is fantastic!!

Acupuncture Certification completed!!

Drs. Tom and Lara Day have finished all of the requirements to become Certified Veterinary Acupuncturists and have received the official "piece of paper" announcing their certification!!

 MRI access!!

LVSES has access to magentic resonance imaging (MRI)! Dr. Scott Bennett, an equine veterinarian and owner of Equine Surgical Services in Simpsonville, has made an arrangement with Dr. Tom Day for use of his MRI unit. The MRI results are sent to a board certified radiologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine for interpretation. All appointments MUST be made through LVSES. LVSES will transport animals to and from Equine Surgical Services and will perform anesthesia for each animal. Please speak to your veterinarian for any further details. Once again, please do not contact Equine Surgical Services.

Vet-Stem Cell Regeneration

LVSES now incorporates Vet-Stem Regeneration Veterinary Medicine therapy for dogs with severe arthritis. This recent technology is being used to regenerate cartilage of dogs using their own fat cells! Briefly, fat from the shoulder or inguinal region is collected during a minor surgical procedure. The fat sample is sent to the laboratories at Vet-Stem, Inc. (www.vet-stem.com) where stem cells are collected and prepared for injection in to the joints of the same dog! This is very exciting technology! Dr. Tom Day and LVSES now certified as a vet-stem cell regeneration clinic!
