Our Mission

Enhance the quality of our patients’ lives by providing state-of-the-art emergency and specialty veterinary care.

History of LVSES:

Louisville Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Services (LVSES) has been offering 24 hour emergency veterinary care in Louisville, KY since 1998 and is currently the only veterinary emergency center in the region that employs multiple boarded specialists in critical care. LVSES was founded in 1998 by Dr. Tom Day, a board certified specialist in anesthesia, pain management and critical care.

Through the years LVSES’s emergency service has grown significantly. In 2007 LVSES expanded to begin offering ophthalmology services and physical rehabilitation. That same year Dr. Day and Dr. Scott Rizzo forged a partnership that would change the future of LVSES and the Louisville Veterinary community for years to come.

In 2008 LVSES broke ground on its new, state-of–the-art facility located on Magisterial Drive just off the Gene Snyder Expressway at Old Henry Rd. The new facility opended its doors in June of 2009. At that time, LVSES welcomed several new boarded specialists as well as offer a number of additional services.

The new services include:

We are very excited about what we have to offer the Greater Louisville area veterinary community. Our mission is to enhance the quality of our patients’ lives by providing state-of-the-art emergency and specialty veterinary care.
