Ultrasound is an advanced diagnostic technique that uses sound wave attenuation to create an image of structures within the body. This technique allows us to look “inside” organs within your pet’s body. Information obtained with ultrasound usually complements traditional radiographic studies. LVSES uses the General Electric Logic 5 ultrasound system by Sound System Technologies, the only manufacturer of ultrasound equipment with a department dedicated to the veterinary profession.

Echocardiology is ultrasound of the heart. Echocardiology allows LVSES to measure your pet’s heart size, function and determine whether there are leaking valves or congenital abnormalities.
Our helical (spiral) computed tomography (CT) scanning system is the same model used
in human hospitals to deliver 360-degree views of a patient's internal body parts
to determine the extent of problems such as abscesses, spinal and head injuries,
and cancer detection.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Through a partnership with a local Equine Specialty Referral center, LVSES is able to offer the access to the only small animal dedicated MRI. The Vet MR Grande MRI is the only veterinary specific MRI unit on the market. LVSES provides transport to and from the facility, anesthesia and monitoring during the procedure and monitoring throughout your pet’s recovery.
Digital x-rays provide quicker, clearer and faster images than film x-ray. Like a digital photo, a digital radiograph can be manipulated after it is taken allowing our team to view the image in ways that aren't possible with film x-ray.
Our state-of-the-art Philips Digital Radiofluoroscopy system allows LVSES access to a complete array of diagnostic procedures, many of which are not available anywhere else in the state.
