Dr. Missy Jewell is a 1998 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science (1989) and Master of Science in Zoology (1992) at the University of Miami (Ohio). She has practiced small animal medicine and surgery for over 9 years. Dr. Jewell has a special interest in exotic companion animal medicine with extensive experience from several institutions. Her training includes a 1-year internship at The Louisville Zoo, a preceptorship at Busch Gardens (Tampa, FL), and an externship at Midwest Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital in Westchester, IL. She also has experience with wildlife care and rehabilitation. Dr. Jewell is a native of Louisville and shares her home with her husband, Doug, 3 dogs, 2 cats, an iguana and 11 fish.
